One of BaFID’s main tasks is to distil academic knowledge and disseminate it to civil society. Our materials and services are aimed at both academic and civil society audiences, in particular teachers and opinion leaders from society, politics, the media and the education sector. We are gradually producing scientifically sound materials in various forms and formats, designed to help counteract trends and movements that threaten social cohesion. The six pillars of our educational work are:
- Events such as lectures, workshops, project days or seminar series offered by BaFID at various institutions
- Teaching materials tailored for use in schools, covering the topics of religion and interfaith dialogue
- Video content such as recordings of talks, our “Kurz erklärt“ video series, or videos for integration work
- the lecture series “Bayerisches Interreligiöses Kolleg” (BIK) in the winter term
- the journal “Erlanger Jahrbuch für Interreligiöse Diskurse” in German
- “Interfaith dialogues” such as the “Erlanger Interreligiösen Gespräche” (EIG), which the BaFID organised in collaboration with Erlangen City Library
