Celebrations and Understanding in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam
The travelling exhibition aims to present four key religious themes from Judaism, Christianity, and Islam through a description of religious festivals throughout the year. These themes are:
- Revelation [Shavuot, Christmas/Theophany, Night of Destiny]
- Atonement [Yom Kippur, Good Friday, the Day of ʿArafa]
- Redemption [Passover, Easter, Feast of Sacrifice]
- Ascension [Enoch/Elijah, the Ascension of Christ, the Prophet’s journey to heaven]
The exhibition explores their religious significance and their importance for social cohesion. The pictures in the travelling exhibition were created by pupils from various types of schools in the European Metropolitan Region of Nuremberg.
